Mother of woman living with rare bowel condition: She is such a fighter
OLIVIA Jobes was just four years old when she was diagnosed with a rare and dangerous bowel condition normally only seen in older people.
Here, her mother Helen, 46, tells our reporter how she and her husband Richard, 46, a bicycle shop owner from South Cave in East Yorkshire, fought for a diagnosis and how proud she is of Olivia, now 15. Helen says:
“When I watch our daughter Olivia practising her golf swing, or hear her listening to her friends’ problems on the phone, I know how blessed we all are to have this loving, loyal girl in our lives. Yet when she was four, we were in danger of losing her to a horrible condition that usually affects people in middle age.
