Dr. Anil K. Rustgi serves as director of the Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center. He also is Associate Dean of Oncology at Columbia University’s Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. Dr. Rustgi’s research focuses on the intrinsic cellular processes and tumor microenvironment that led to the development, progression, and metastasis of gastrointestinal cancers, including cancers of the esophagus, pancreas, and colon.

Dr. Rustgi completed his gastrointestinal Fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital in 1990. He has also served as T. Grier Miller Professor of Medicine and Genetics, American Cancer Society Professor, director of an NIDDK P30 Center, director of a Penn-CHOP Center, director of NIH T32 training grants, and chief of Gastroenterology.
