Dee Henschel
Community Leader FAP Patient
Winnipeg, Canada
Dee Henschel is a FAP previvor, proud mom of 2 children with FAP. She has a family history of FAP and she is the 3rd generation in her family to inherit FAP. Dee works part-time as an Education Assistant and is involved in Stampin’ Up and their great products as well as Meleuca.
Dee Henschel was diagnosed with Familial Adenomatous Polyposis (FAP) when she was 22 years old. She had a total colectomy IRA surgery when she was 23 as her colon was found to be carpeted with polyps. She went on with her life making slight adjustments and getting scoped (Both gastro and sig. scopes) every 6 months. Later she found out that both of her kids had inherited the FAP gene. That proved to be an eye opener for her and she started doing research on FAP. She would LOVE to start a foundation/organization to raise money for research to help her kids and others with FAP. She uses Facebook to share everything possible using her facebook groups and many other colon cancer pages.
