Dr. Onel studies the genetic contribution to cancer risk and response to therapy. His lab employs cutting edge technology and develops novel methods to investigate the role of genetics in human health and disease. His lab then studies functionally the genetic variants he discovers in order to understand their consequences and develop therapies to overcome their deleterious effects.
