Melyssa joined Mount Sinai Hospital in 1998. She helped start up the Ontario Familial Colorectal Cancer Registry (OFCCR) which is a population-based provincial colorectal cancer registry.
She was promoted to Senior Genetic Counsellor in 1999 for the FGICR. Melyssa continues her role in those areas and work with families that have hereditary GI cancer syndromes and associated cancers. She has a special interest in hereditary gastric cancer and is a founding member of the International Biallelic Mismatch Repair Consortium. She is an American (ABGC) and Canadian (CAGC) Certified Genetic Counsellor.

Graduated with her Master of Science in Genetic Counselling from Sarah Lawrence College, New York.
Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Waterloo, Ontario.
