The Zane Cohen Centre researches about gastrointestinal cancers at Mount Sinai Hospital. The Familial Gastrointestinal Cancer Registry (FGICR) provides information for FAP and the polyposis syndromes to affected families across Canada and for HNPCC to Ontario families. The Ontario Pancreas Cancer Study (OPCS) looks at the genetics of pancreatic cancer. Mount Sinai’s Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute ranks in the top 10 biomedical research institutes in the world.
